Tours of exhibition: Site of Change with Dr Tom Spalding

Samuel McDonnell, after Robert Lowe Stopford, View of Cork Opera House (detail), 1857.

Wednesday 29 March, 1pm
and
Thursday 30 March, 6:30pm

Site of Change explores how the building of the Crawford Art Gallery has transformed with the times. Repurposed from its original role as Custom House, it has operated as a School of Art, Municipal Art Gallery, and is now a National Cultural Institution. At each shift in purpose, it has adapted and grown in response to the needs of the city and people of Cork, Munster, and Ireland.

Join us for a free tour of the exhibition with Historian Dr Tom Spalding for Cork Lifelong Learning Festival 2023.

Dr Tom Spalding is a researcher for the Crawford Art Gallery working on the Building as Witness project.
