Online 'RAY DAYS’ for primary schools

© The School of Looking, Ray Days 1. GAMMA (Banana Music)

October - November 2020

We invite your school to connect with the School of Looking; to explore the art and science of seeing with free, virtual workshops for schools.

Are your pupils curious about how animals see colour or how x-rays allow us to see through people? Would they like to meet an artist? The exhibition Invisible Light presents banana music, radio hats, microwaves, x-rays and much more!

Invisible Light is an exhibition that explores the Electromagnetic Spectrum, funded by Science Foundation Ireland’s (SFI) Discover Programme and developed with scientific collaborators from Tyndall National Institute and Irish Photonic Integration Centre (IPIC).

The exhibition consists of 8 artworks, which each investigate a different form of invisible light, from the mysterious gamma ray to the familiar radio wave.

- School of Looking artists Anne Cleary and Denis Connolly invite schools to connect, online and live through zoom

-The Crawford Art Gallery will host these sessions and there is no fee

- Each 40-minute session involves a playful introduction to the exhibition, a focus on an individual artwork and time for discussion

- Sessions will take place throughout October - November 2020

If you would like to book a session for your school, or discuss a scheduled encounter to meet your needs, please contact:
