COGARNACH

Cogarnach. Photo Claire O'Rorke

Sunday 26 November
Performances at 4pm and 5.30pm

The Irish word cogarnach directly translates as ‘whispering’ but it also suggests secrets and conspiracies.

Composer Fiona Linnane, soprano Triona Walsh, and the youth ensembles of the Cork ETB School of Music have created a collaborative musical work responding to Crawford Art Gallery’s building, its architecture, and its history. Following a series of workshops, they invite audiences to a final performance of the work.

The presentation, which will be in a promenade style, explores the responses to the spaces and stories they have found through music, song, and sound.

Free but booking essential | Reserve your place via Eventbrite

COGARNACH is presented as part of the BUILDING AS WITNESS programme and is kindly supported by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media under the Decade of Centenaries Programme 2012 - 2023.
