Thursday 12 January 1pm
Starting in the Gallery Lecture Theatre
Corban Walker’s installation challenges a central aspect of art history’s status quo. How? This combination lecture-tour of mid-20th century art and its 21st century rescripting will root visitors in a pivotal moment in modern art history and, through their embodied participation, help unravel the puzzle: to which questions, exactly, are these provocative works the answer? How do they provoke us to rethink some of our assumptions?
Dr. Sabine Kriebel teaches modern and contemporary art history and theory at University College Cork. She has served as author, editor, critic, pedagogue, learner, and thought instigator.
