Artists’ Film International | 2022 Archive

Screening programme dates 18 August 2022 - 19 March 2023
Artists’ Film International (AFI) is a collaborative project featuring film, video and animation from around the world. Established by the Whitechapel Gallery in 2008, AFI includes 20 global partner organisations. Each organisation selects an exciting recent work by an artist from their region which is shared amongst the network.

The programme is adapted to every venue and is shown over the course of a year. Artists’ Film International 2022 programme responds to the theme of climate.

For this year’s participation Crawford Art Gallery has invited Irish artist Bassam Al Sabbah to present his powerful and timely film Wandering, Wandering with a Sun on my Back (2018).

Here, in the dedicated screening room of Crawford Art Gallery, films will be shown in a looped presentation of three to four films changing every five weeks.
