We invite audiences to explore the gallery, the exhibitions and the artists we present.

Our programmes are for everyone.

They take place in the gallery, on the streets, in schools, in health settings and in a range of community venues.

Our programmes include workshops, tours, talks, performances, large scale events and long-term community and health-based partnership projects.

We are keen to mirror the diversity of our audiences, and the variety and complexity of the artwork that the gallery holds.

We provide a space to feed the imagination and where creativity is valued

We understand that recognising an individual's cultural identity enables human dignity and growth.

We welcome the opportunity to collaborate with people with diverse voices, abilities, and experiences.

Some of the ways we work:

Young People and Families

Children, families and teens are at the heart of our programming.

Free Sunday activities encourage play and exploration for intergenerational audiences.

Our teen programme aims to encourage confidence and experimentation.

We support young people in meeting with peers and developing skills, experience and opportunities to develop creative careers.

Public talks and tours are open to everyone, they aim to open up conversations about artists, ideas, culture and society.

Community

We offer introductory sessions and guided visits to groups from a wide range of backgrounds.

We welcome people who are completely new to gallery going.

We particularly recognise and value the wealth of lived experience and resilience that is held within our neighbouring communities.

Regular visiting groups include adults in further education, organisations that support seniors and mental health service users.

Schools and Teachers

Guided visits are suitable for students of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.

Guided visits may be tailored to the curriculum or support young people and teachers’ own exploration. These visits will encourage speaking confidently about art and the development of the students’ viewpoints.
