Since medieval times the preparatory charcoal drawings for stained glass windows have been called cartoons. In the complex process of making stained glass windows, these provided the scaled up image for the artist/craftsman.

Join art historian Vera Ryan and stained glass makers Eddie Hyland and Julie Kelleher, in an open talk discussing the recreation of stained glass panel directly from these beautifully drawings that the gallery is working against the odds to conserve.
