The Crawford Art Gallery are proud to be part of this Moveable Feast

Everybody is welcome to participate in and enjoy this moveable feast.

Moveable Feast is an ongoing creative textile making project involving members of the Clonakilty and Glounthaune Communities in County Cork; specifically asylum seekers living in direct provision centres within these communities, refugees who have been through the direct provision system and members of the local community who would like to extend the hand of welcome.

Our seat at this table began with a conversation in 2015 with Wallaroo Child and Family Health Project HSE. Wallaroo provide much needed childcare in Ashbourne House Direct Provision Accomodation Centre, Glounthaune. This conversation led us to invite artist/ facilitator Inge Van Doorslaer to work with us to create opportunities for meaningful creative exchange with women living in direct provision. Our commitment was acknowledged with the award of a Creative Communities prize from Cork County Council in 2017. We are delighted to support the twin themes of Welcome and a Moveable Feast as they offer the potential for exciting opportunities for cultural sharing around the table.
